Ramat Hadassah Szold Youth Village
|
In close coordination with the Israel National Therapeutic Riding Organization (INTRA), Ramat Hadassah Szold is home to the acclaimed and highly popular therapeutic horseback riding program. Attended weekly by 60-70 youth, this program allows participants to develop a sense that they are capable of being loved and of loving in return. The experience of interacting with and riding a horse is about mutual trust. As participants embolden their personal sense of self-worth, their newfound confidence trickles down to positively impact their relationships with peers and to improve their studies at school. Led by a certified veterinarian, therapy horses are specially trained to work with this vulnerable population. Some students, who have taken a particular liking to this program, are training to become certified instructors. Upon graduation, they will be certified and qualified to find employment in the field. |

Ramat Hadassah Szold, with a student body of 360, is proud to be in its third year of a high school program in addition to its middle school. The cinema program is already creating films and actors alike. The student commitment to studying Jewish text in hevruta, partnership, is a joy to behold.
