Ramat Hadassah Szold Youth Village

Ramat Hadassah Szold, with a student body of 360, is proud to be in its third year of a high school program in addition to its middle school. The cinema program is already creating films and actors alike. The student commitment to studying Jewish text in hevruta, partnership, is a joy to behold.

In close coordination with the Israel National Therapeutic Riding Organization (INTRA), Ramat Hadassah Szold is home to the acclaimed and highly popular therapeutic horseback riding program. Attended weekly by 60-70 youth, this program allows participants to develop a sense that they are capable of being loved and of loving in return. The experience of interacting with and riding a horse is about mutual trust. As participants embolden their personal sense of self-worth, their newfound confidence trickles down to positively impact their relationships with peers and to improve their studies at school. Led by a certified veterinarian, therapy horses are specially trained to work with this vulnerable population. Some students, who have taken a particular liking to this program, are training to become certified instructors. Upon graduation, they will be certified and qualified to find employment in the field.
