Friday, October 19

Depart Jerusalem, traveling north through Israel's Jordan Valley. En route, we stop at Gan Sachne to take in the beautiful surroundings including the natural warm springs. Continue to Beit Shean and Beit Alpha to view amazing excavations from Israel's ancient days, including a synagogue and beautiful mosaics. Arrive at our kibbutz guesthouse with time to freshen up before joining the kibbutz community in welcoming Shabbat and enjoying Shabbat dinner. Overnight at Kibbutz Kfar Blum in the Galilee.

Saturday, October 20

Full day at leisure to enjoy the amenities at our kibbutz guesthouse. Dinner and overnight at Kibbutz Kfar Blum in the Galilee.

Sunday, October 21

Enjoy a jeep tour of the Golan Heights, passing former Syrian bunkers on our way to Har Bental, where we take in the panoramic views stretching deep into neighboring Syria. Continue to the Tel Dan Nature Reserve for a short hike through this beautiful landscape. The afternoon will be a kayaking adventure along the Jordan River. Dinner on your own in this lovely area. Overnight at Kibbutz Kfar Blum in the Galilee.

Monday, October 22

Morning visit to Safed, where we will view the ancient Haari and Caro Synagogues and walk through the Artists Quarter with its many galleries and studios. Continue to Israel's coastal border, stopping in Akko, where we will discover the Crusader-era fortifications and British Prison. Take in the views of the beautiful Bahai Temple and Persian Gardens from atop Mount Carmel. Continuing south, we arrive in Caesarea, where we view the ancient remnants from Israel's Roman era, including the Roman Theater and the Aqueduct. Arrive in Tel Aviv, where we will check in to our hotel. Dinner on your own in this fabulous, modern city. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Tuesday, October 23

Visit Independence Hall, site of the signing of Israel's Declaration of Independence. Continue past Rabin Square, stopping for a moment as we remember Israel's former Prime Minister. Arrive at the Palmach Museum, where we "join up" with Israel's pre-statehood paramilitary fighting forces as we learn about their history and bravery. End our day at Nachalat Binyamin, where artists and entertainers fill the streets with crafts and music. Continue to Jerusalem or the airport for your flight home.
