Some of Hadassah's closest friends in Israel are people very much like ourselves. Others embody the development of Israel and everything we have tried to build there. Dalia Itzik represents the whole picture‹the mirror image plus the reflection of our Zionist values. That's why it's so fitting that I share her story in my newest podcast.
Dalia is a mother and grandmother, a leader and a proud Jerusalemite. She started her professional life as a teacher and eventually became the first woman Speaker of the Knesset. As a lawmaker, she has been concerned with women's equality, as well as with issues of peace and security. She is one of eight children born to parents who were immigrants from Iraq. And, by the way, Dalia and her children were born at Hadassah Hospital.
