KEEPERS OF THE GATE
During the Hebrew month of Tishrei, we sit in sukkahs (booths) visiting with our Matriarchs Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah and discussing the Holy Days that have passed. We look to the future and realize that we must have a plan that includes tzedakah (charity).
And of course we know that annual tzedakah such as Keepers of the Gate is the way to move forward. We explain to our Matriarchs that Hadassah provides health, research, education which is made possible through the millions of dollars from Hadassah's only annual giving program, Keepers of the Gate.
Do you think that our Matriarchs would understand this? Do you and your colleagues believe in this? Do you talk about the meaningful opportunity to join this special group of people who understand the importance of knowing that over $4 million is available for Hadassah projects annually because of Keepers of the Gate?
Too bad we can't give our Matriarchs the lovely David's Harp pin which represents each Keeper of the Gate. But we can give it to our colleagues who understand its significance.
Chag Sukkot Sameach.
