Teen Service Council

Come Join Hadassah's Teen Service Council!

Do you need to fulfill a community service requirement for graduation? Or do you simply seek a volunteer opportunity that teaches public service and fosters new friendships with teenage girls across the city? Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh Chapter offers teenage girls in grades 8 through 12 the opportunity to serve on our Teen Volunteer Service Council. We invite you to become involved, and we would like your support.

The Teen Volunteer Service Council offers:

  • The ability to document achievement of 100 hours' volunteer services with a Certificate of Honor when teens graduate from high school in order to verify volunteer hours for college applications;
  • A chance for parents to connect and network through Hadassah, one of the largest women's membership organizations in the U.S; and
  • An opportunity to learn the history related to Hadassah, to learn about the five projects in Israel (including the world-famous Hadassah Hospital), and to obtain a deeper connection to Israel and its people.

We are currently planning an exciting year of programming that will reach teens throughout Pittsburgh and the suburbs. Programs are typically held on Sunday afternoons, and we mix service with fun. In past years, social and community activities included collecting clothing and food for the Pittsburgh Food Bank, Women's Shelter, the homeless, and the Cuban Jewish community.

We invite you to become a member of the Teen Volunteer Service Council. We value your input and welcome new faces. Please complete the registration form and return it to the Hadassah office. We hope to hear from you soon.
