A Message from our Presidents
Evie and Beth
As we begin summer in St. Louis, complete with the heat and humidity that is as characteristic as Cardinals’ top-notch baseball at Busch Stadium or a warm night at the Muny, we look forward to sharing the good works of Hadassah with you.
A few weeks ago, we completed our 8th Annual Suzy Esstman’s Walk on Sunshine at Queeny Park (6/2/13) and are so proud to report that we raised over $22,000 for Neuro-Oncology research at Hadassah Hospital. With your help, we will work to discover therapies to win the battle against Brain Tumors.
In Israel, Marcie Natan, Hadassah's 25th National President, pulled aside the satin curtains that covered the name of the late Dr. June Walker, Hadassah's 23rd President, and officially dedicated the Dr. June Walker High School for Life Sciences and Agriculture at the Meir Shfeyah Youth Village. Walker, a respiratory therapist and professor of chemistry, believed in the value of top science education for all, and wanted to upgrade the science education at Hadassah's youth villages so that young people would integrate in Israel's high tech and biotech world. We are proud to see this project come to fruition.
We hope to see you at one of our upcoming programs! We encourage you to volunteer -- join a committee and share your great ideas! Get involved with Hadassah. Make your impact!
Have a wonderful summer!
Beth and Evie
