Hadassah works to improve the quality of life for all the people of Israel and strengthen Jewish life in the United States. We are about people, changing lives, and Tikkun Olam - making the world a better place. Focused on health, education, youth and the environment, Hadassah changes lives, one person at a time.
Hadassah offers tangible ways to connect with Israel and Zionism through education, promoting support for our Israeli projects: Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO), Hadassah College Jerusalem (HCJ), Youth Aliyah/Children At Risk programs, and by partnering with the Jewish National Fund (JNF). Hadassah provides support for Young Judaea, the oldest Zionist youth movement in the United States. There are many ways you can support work of Hadassah.
Hadassah Certificates for Jewish National Fund Trees, Special Occasions, Get Well, Condolences, etc. are available to ALL chapter members for purchase. See our Certificates Catalog. We note your message, mail your certificate, and your message is also placed in the Bulletin. This is a convenient way to send an appropriate message while supporting Hadassah with a minimum cost of $5 each. A statement of account will be mailed or e-mailed to you monthly. And, for a minimum of $50 you can set up a prepaid account to pay for your certificate purchases. As certificates are sent, out the appropriate cost will be deducted from the balance.
To purchase a certificate e-mail Sue Goldman at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also mail your request. Please send checks for certificates to: Sue Goldman, 3055 Clear Springs Court, Charlottesville, VA 22911-7219.
Hadassah sells greeting cards for many occasions - birthday, anniversary, get well, congratulations, sympathy, Bar and Bat Mitzvah and others. See our Cards Catalog. Many of these cards are appropriate for people of all faiths. Cards are available at all Hadassah meetings or by contacting Joanne Foster at email@example.com.
For just one dollar per wish send a birthday or anniversary greeting to any Charlottesville Chapter member. A Hadassah greeting costs less than purchasing a commercial greeting card. Ordering for 2013 greetings is now closed.
Would you like to thank a lot of Hadassah members and friends for their calls, and visits, and homemade food that they brought when you were sick, or just home from the hospital? Or, would you like to thank a lot of Hadassah members who sent in donations for a beautiful Certificate signed by the many contributors? You can do any of the above - without thanking each individual separately - by donating $5 or more to Hadassah and writing your personal thank you that you want to appear in the monthly bulletin. Please send your check, made out to Hadassah, to Sue Dwoskin, P.O. Box 417, Stanardsville, VA 22973-0417. If you have any questions, contact Sue at firstname.lastname@example.org.
HADASSAH HEROINES, HEROES AND CHAI SOCIETY (NEW!!)
The Hadassah Heroines Program was created as a way to meaningfully give to Hadassah on an annual basis. Your pledge of $100 for 5 years can be designated to the Hadassah project of your choice. You may also continue giving at that level as long as you wish beyond the 5-year commitment. Several years ago we began a similar program for the men in our lives, Hadassah Heroes. What a wonderful way to show your continuing support for the very special work that Hadassah does. Since these programs began, 57 Charlottesville Chapter members have joined Heroines and 17 men have joined Heroes. A beautiful certificate and pin are provided to all who become “Heroines” or “Heroes.”
We also have a new program -- Chai Society -- that recognizes a $360 annual giving level for 5 years to bridge the gap between Heroines/Heroes and Keepers of the Gate ($1,000 annual giving level). Hadassah has created a unique pin for those who wish to give at this level. Charlottesville Hadassah currently has 6 Chai Society members. Click here for a Chai Society enrollment form. For further information about any of these programs, please contact Diane Bisgaier at 540-456-4702 or email@example.com.
Major gifts to Hadassah are essential to help meet current commitments to our projects as well as upgrade and expand our facilities to meet future needs. Major Gifts can be given to every Hadassah project and may be fulfilled with cash, stocks, bonds, trusts, annuities and Israel Bonds. A major gift to Hadassah is a tangible expression of commitment that binds the donor to Hadassah's vital work in Israel and the United States. The new major gift levels look to Hadassah's Centennial Anniversary for inspiration.
A Keeper of the Gate is someone who has committed to contributing a minimum of $1,000 annually to Hadassah for as long as she is able. Men can become Associate Keepers with a $1,000 yearly gift. Golden Keepers of the Gate agree to make an annual gift of $5,000 and Benefactors make a gift of $18,000 over three years. A Centennial Founder's gift represents $25,000 given over a three-year period or a $36,000 annuity. Young Founders (donors up to the age of 46) make a gift of $15,000, payable over five years. Circle of Founders are gifts of $50,000 or more, and now all gifts of $1,000 or more, reported to the National Office, accumulate towards the Circle of Founders level. All Major Donors receive a beautiful specially designed pin when they make their commitment.
Anyone interested in becoming either a Centennial Founder, a Keeper of the Gate, or in finding out more about these Programs, creating an endowment, and other levels of giving is invited to contact Major Gifts Chair Ruth Picker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
