December General Meeting
Food and Mood:
What to Eat During a Snack Attack
Tuesday, December 2, 2014
Hospitality at 7 PM; Program at 7:30PM
Guest Speaker: Susan E. Del Gobbo, M.P.H., R.D., Registered Dietitian
Congregation Beth Israel O'Mansky Hall, Downtown Charlottesville
Del Gobbo, a registered dietitian nutritionist who has been working in community, corporate and clinical nutrition for 35 years, will speak on "Food and Mood: What to Eat during a Snack Attack." Her discussion will focus on how one's temperament can impact upon eating habits and what drives food and eating attitudes, as well as how eating and behavior are often intertwined. This talk will serve as a helpful reminder about how to eat in moderation during holiday festivities.
Owner of Charlottesville Nutrition, Del Gobbo currently offers individual and group nutrition counseling, specializing in eating disorders, weight management, nutrition for disease prevention, gastro-intestinal health and sports nutrition. She is also a foodie, which, four years ago, led her starting part-time work as a personal chef. Co-teacher of a class focused on emotional eating at the Charlottesville Cooking School, she teaches stretching for beginners at the Federal Executive Institute.
Hadassah's Chai Society program recognizes a $360 annual giving level for 5 years, bridging the gap between Heroines & Heroes ($100 annual donation) and Keepers of the Gate($1,000 annual giving level).
