Chapter e-News, Vol. 51

Kudos to our Walkathon Chair Ann Barcome and her committee, especially co-chair Phylis Ermann, for the yeoman job that they did to make our First Walkathon for Neuromuscular Diseases such a success. We have now raised over $35,000 and the money is still coming in! We can all be very proud to have achieved this success.

Please read the rest of this eblast to check on the other events of GWAC for the next few weeks. I want to especially emphasize that on Thursday, May 29 at 8 PM at Ring House we will be the host for author and journalist Andree Aelion Brooks. She will be talking about a fascinating 16th century woman Dona Gracia Nasi. In her book, The Woman Who Defied Kings, Ms. Brooks details the life of this woman who saved thousands of her fellow conversos (forcibly converted Jews) from the terrors of the Inquisition. Please make your reservations through the Hadassah office beforehand. There is a $10 fee. The book will be available for purchase at the talk. I would like to wish all of you a Chag Sameach Shavuot.
