In years’ past, Projects Pediatrics has sponsored bus trips to New York City but this year there was a unanimous vote for a day of shopping. On the way to the mall, we heard the story about one extraordinary woman—Andi Moriah—who benefited from state-of-the-art treatment at Hadassah Hospital. Everyone was able to map out their strategies for tackling the numerous stores at the mall, and we received a variety of enticing coupons and promotional materials from stores that had goodies waiting for us.
Our women descended upon the mall at 11am and filled the next 8 hours with marathon shopping. We were happy to board the bus to rest our feet; however there was barely enough room for all our loot. As if the shopping trip was not enough excitement for one day, there were drawings on the bus for jewelry, scarves, candy and a grand prize of an overnight stay at a Marriott Elite Hotel. After that we all chilled out with wine, cheese, crackers and sweets as we headed home.
Thank you so much to our wonderful committee: Mindy Caplan, Judy Chircus, Bonnie Feldman, Renee Furman, Lisa Hamburger, Shari Kaplan, Carol Kashan, Debbi Katz, Alissa Kligman, Mindi Leikin, Stephanie Nislow, Carol Noel, Wendy Russel, Lauren Rutkovitz, Robin Sakin and Edee Schnitzer. Thanks also to all the extraordinary women who joined us on this excursion.
