Bar/Bat Mitzvah Fundraising

The new B/B Mitzvah program is part of the Hadassah.org website. On the B/B Mitzvah page, students are able to set up their own webpage and choose the project of Hadassah they wish to benefit. They can connect video links of that project to their personal web page, they will have a fundraising thermometer to show how they are progressing towards their goal and they will be able to write an email that will automatically be sent as thanks to their friends and family who donate on their site. The average B/B Mitzvah gift to Hadassah has been $800. This new program is a fantastic opportunity to connect the next generation of Jewish youth, along with their family and friends, to Hadassah. Hadassah has made it possible to have Kaddish recited for your loved one at the beautiful Fannie and Maxwell Abbell Synagogue on the premises of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center at Ein Kerem, Jerusalem.

A one time donation of $1000 ensures the designated Yahrzeit date will be observed in perpetuity. Donations support Hadassah Medical Organization. In this way, donors can transform life loss into life affirming mitzvot benefiting people all over the world. Each year prior to the Yahrzeit date, you will receive a notice from Israel acknowledging the upcoming observance. On that date, your loved one’s name will be memorialized during the mincha (afternoon service) held at the synagogue.  In addition, a beautiful Hadassah Yahrzeit certificate featuring a repliaca of a Chagall window will be issued to the individual establishing the memorial. If you would like set up a Yahrzeit please contact Eva Siegel, 717-234-6056, evaandlee@comcast.net, 3509 Green Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Payment plans are available upon request.
