  • Hadassah Hospital Protects and Heals in the Midst of Bedlam
  • Dozens were injured this morning when a bus transporting Palestinian schoolchildren and a truck collided on wet roads in northern Jerusalem. MDA and Police were alerted. Fire engines rushed to the scene near the Hizme village checkpoint that separates Jerusalem and the West Bank. Dead victims were removed from the burning vehicles.

  • February 24, 2012, will be 100 years to the day since Henrietta Szold and a small group of women founded Hadassah in the Vestry Room at Temple Emanu-El in New York City.
  • Hadassah Launches Centennial Year
  • NEW YORK – Hadassah,the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, has launched a yearof centennial anniversary celebrations, scheduled through 2012 includingwhat will be a grand three-day milestone celebration in Jerusalem inOctober. The organization,founded in 1912 in New York City byHenrietta Szold and 30 other women, today numbers over 300,000 womenmembers and men associates in the United States and supporters around the world.
  • Hadassah Joins Jewish Energy Covenant Campaign
  • Today, in honor of Tu B'Shvat, Hadassah reaffirms its commitment to the environment and proudly announces its participation in the Jewish Energy Covenant Campaign. Hadassah National President Marcie Natan was one of 50 Jewish leaders—from across the political and religious spectrum—to join the campaign earlier this week by signing the "Jewish Environment and Energy Imperative" declaration.
  • Hadassah Thanks Ambassador Killion
  • Hadassah thanks U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) David Killion for his actions opposing anti-Semitism.
  • Howard Jacobson To Receive Harold U. Ribalow Prize
  • Hadassah Magazine hasannounced that this year’s Harold U. Ribalow Prize will be awarded to Howard Jacobson, who wrote The Finkler Question, published in 2010. Every year, Hadassah Magazine honors an author who has created an outstandingwork of fiction on a Jewish theme. The Finkler Question also wasawarded the 2010 Man Booker Prize.
