Hadassah Medical Center pediatric doctor from Israel, here on a
fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, spoke about
eating disorders and the importance of the establishment of a
multidisciplinary program that will address the needs of these patients.

Teri Junker is New Central States Region President
Cincinnati native Teri Junker was installed as the new President of Hadassah Central States Region at the Region Spring Forum on April 9-10, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio. Carol Ann Schwartz, also a native Cincinnatian, was honored for her exemplary service as Region President for the past three years. Gayna Bassin Receives 2010 National Leadership Award
At the Opening Meeting/Installation on September 20, 2010, immediate Past President Tobe Snow presented the 2010 Leadership Award to Gayna Bassin, a Hadassah Life Member and member of the Cincinnati Chapter Board since 2006. Gayna currently serves as Information Technology, Webmaster, and Publicity Chair. She is also the Webmaster and Board member of the Central States Region of Hadassah. She attended her first national convention in July 2010 in Hollywood, Florida. Her husband, Jeffrey, is an Associate member of Hadassah and also attended the convention.
Cincinnati Chapter Receives Award at Hadassah National Convention
On Sunday, July 25, 2010, at the Hadassah National Convention in Hollywood, Florida, Carol Ann Schwartz, Central States Region President, presented the Central States Recognition Award to Cincinnati Chapter for Bringing Back the "Coffee Talk/Decaf Cafe" Program Series. Bobbi Handwerger, Co-President of Cincinnati Chapter accepted the award at the Region dinner at Nando's Italian Restaurant in Hollywood, FL.
Opening Meeting/Installation Luncheon On Monday, October 5, 2009, at 11:30 a.m., Cincinnati Chapter of Hadassah held its Opening Meeting/Installation at Hebrew Union College in Mayerson Hall. It had been rescheduled from September 14th, due to the passing of Dr. Alfred Gottschalk, former President, esteemed colleague and friend of the professors and students at Hebrew Union College. Hadassah Board members were installed for 2009-2010, and Rabbi Gary Zola gave a presentation about "Abraham Lincoln and the Jews".

Cincinnati Member Wins Central States Region "Women of Innovation" Award
Gayna Bassin, a lifetime member of Cincinnati Chapter of Hadassah, was awarded the "Women of Innovation" Award at the Central States Regional Conference on November 15, 2008. The conference took place in Lexington, Kentucky from November 14 - 16 at the Lexington Hyatt Regency Hotel. Gayna is the Cincinnati Chapter webmaster, IT and Publicity Chair, as well as the Central States Region webmaster. The other recipients of the Women of Innovation award were Connie Grobstein (Lexington Chapter) and Raye Ziring (Kalamazoo Chapter).
Cincinnati Chapter Wins 3 Awards at Hadassah National Convention
At the National Convention in Los Angeles that was held July 12 -16, 2008, it was Tobe Snow's honor and privilege to accept the National Women's Health Award to the Cincinnati Chapter for the Women's Health Education Day Event that occurred on January 27,2008. Cincinnati Chapter also won the Emerald Award for achieving 125% of Bottom Line Quota and the "Green" Wine and Cheese Award for the Tu B'Shevat Israeli Wine Tasting and Reforestation of the North Event. The first Hot Topics of 2008 was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, a wintery night at the home of Edie Rau. Our topic was "A Time to Relate: The Mother Daughter Relationship". We watched a DVD on this topic from a taped session at this past summer's Hadassah National Convention featuring Saralynn Mark, a physician and Roni Sandler-Cohen, a psychologist. A lively discussion ensued after the viewing of the DVD with everyone relating their own experiences with being a mother and a daughter. There will be more Hot Topics during the year. Wine Tasting Event/JNF Fundraiser
Saturday, January 19, 2008 was frigid outside, but everyone was warm inside the Miller Gallery in Hyde Park, surrounded by beautiful art, friends and wine. The Cincinnati Chapter of Hadassah celebrated Israel's 60th Birthday with a Wine Tasting, including wines from Israel.The proceeds of the event going to purchase Jewish National Fund Trees to aid in the reforestation of Northern Israel, so devastated in the last War. Central States Region Fall Convention 2007
Seven women of the Cincinnati Chapter: Allison Frankel, Carol Ann Schwartz, Amy Perlman, Paula Jarnicki, Teri Junker, Renee Sandler and Tobe Snow, enjoyed a fun,informative weekend of prayer and learning in Ann Arbor, Michigan Oct. 19-21, 2007. We had the pleasure of meeting with women from all over the Central States Region and heard Barbara Sofer speak.
Then, on October 22nd, Barbara then came to Cincinnati and gave a mesmerizing, passionate speech about life in Israel and at Hadassah hospital at our Pre-Donor Reception and Opening Event. We learned from her how Israel and particularly, Hadassah, are an island of peace, goodness and sanity in otherwise chaotic and hostile surroundings. To see more photos from this event, click here.

HADASSAH SPRING FLING 5K RUN/WALK: Race for Women's Health
Benefitting the Healthy Women/Healthy Lives Program
The Spring Fling 5K Run/Walk took place on Sunday, May 20, 2007. The main race began at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Wingate Hotel in Blue Ash, Ohio. Free towels and massages were given to the participants, and a variety of raffle prizes were awarded.
Installation Luncheon took place on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza (formerly the Clarion) Hotel in Blue Ash, Ohio. Tobe Snow was installed as our new President, and Allison Frankel was honored with the National Leadership Award. Jenny Broh received the Ima Certificate. The food was delicious, and to our delight, Tobe Snow's son Sam participated with his band in playing some pretty lively music. Our raffle tickets raised approximately $2000.00, and we sold over $200.00 in Neurim jewelry. Our first time Roses From Israel sale for Mother's Day was successful too. To see photos, click here.
