Installation May 21, 2008
On Wednesday, May 21, 2008, the Cincinnati Chapter of Hadassah held Installation Luncheon at The Ridge Club. Central States Region representative Amy Perlman conducted the installation of the 2008-2009 Chapter Board Officers as well as the installation of Tobe Snow for the second year in her term as President of the Cincinnati Chapter of Hadassah.
Following a lavish buffet lunch, author Laura Manischewitz-Alpern spoke about her Hadassah/ Cincinnati connections. She shared stories about her involvement in Young Judaea, Hadassah Year Course and time she lived in Israel. She also told the tale of how her Great Grandfather started the Manischewitz Company right here in our/her hometown of Cincinnati.
Who doesn't enjoy thinking, hearing and talking about delicious food? In her book titled Manischewitz: The Matzo Family The Making of an American Icon, Mrs. Manischewitz-Alpern spun a fascinating story about the origins of the company that not only makes food we love to eat but creates memories of meals shared with family and friends.
