Fall Conference 2008
Hadassah Central States Region Fall Conference:
Cincinnati Chapter members Carol Ann Schwartz (Region President), Tobe Snow (Cincinnati Chapter President), Allison Frankel, Gayna Bassin, Teri Junker and Paula Jarnicki attended the Fall Hadassah Central States Region Conference in Lexington, KY. On Saturday, Gayna Bassin was one of three women honored with the Women of Innovation award.
Marcie Natan, Hadassah National Treasurer, gave the keynote address on Friday evening, and Rabbi Audrey Korotkin led services. Carol Goodman Kaufman, Ph.D. gave a moving presentation Saturday afternoon on Domestic Violence and the Jewish Community. Adam H. Edelen, Chief-of-Staff to Kentucky Governor Steve Besheat, gave the keynote speech after the Saturday night dinner. Carol Goodman Kaufman signed copies of her book, Sins of Omission: the Jewish Community's Reaction to Domestic Violence, and gift baskets were auctioned off as fundraisers by Renee Resnik.
Associates in attendance enjoyed an excursion to Kentucky Horse Park and attended a seminar on Islam led by Lawrence Ziring, Ph.D. The conference concluded on Sunday with helpful workshops and inspiring speakers illuminating all the programs and research being conducted in Israel by Hadassah.
