Our Mission: Making a Difference

Welcome to the Greater Cleveland Hadassah website! Last year HADASSAH, the Women's Zionist Organization of America celebrated its 100th birthday with its Jerusalem convention.  As the 3rd chapter created personally by our founder, Henrietta Szold we are locally embracing our past and enthusiastically looking forward.  It's an exciting time to either reconnect or join during Greater Cleveland's Centennial year.

Our chapter is over 1800 members strong which includes all ages from birth to one hundred.  Although we are a women's organization, we also have male associate members that support us with their special membership status.  Currently we have limited program offerings, but are looking forward to our expansion in 2013-14.

We are in the process of developing two distinct younger women's groups, limited special programming for our  membership in Solon, and a cooperative early childhood program of Hadassah's Training Wheels (Al Galgalim) with Temple Israel Ner Talmid in Mayfield Heights.  In addition, we are continuing our daytime program--lunch bunch which might include some day trips for our women that participate and prefer daytime programming.  We also will continue our monthly multi-generational Machon study group that has been so popular for more than 5 years.  Our last scheduled committment for this next year is a major community wide event in late Spring to educate the women of our community about our # 1 killer-- Heart Disease.  This educational forum will be offered as another partnered event with another women's organization.  Unfortunately this event is still in the planning stage and nothing has been formalized.  Lastly we currently offer a Hadassah book club, but we are still looking for a committed member to chair this program for the upcoming year.

Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, is a volunteer organization that inspires a passion for and commitment to its partnership with the land and people of Israel. It enhances the health of people worldwide through its support of medical care and research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem. Hadassah empowers its members and supporters, as well as youth in Israel and America, through opportunities for personal growth, education, advocacy and Jewish continuity.

If you are a member, thank you for supporting the land and people of Israel. If you are not a member, please join us!

We look forward to working with you!

B'Shalom,

Arlene Wieder

President
