President's Welcome Message
Welcome to the Dallas Chapter of Hadassah!
It’s one thing to say you are going to do something, but it is something else to actually do it. Standing inside the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower made me feel proud to be part of an organization that not only said they were going to build the tower, but actually built it. The visionaries and philanthropists that made this possible should be an inspiration to us all.
In Israel, you don’t have to tell anyone what Hadassah is, they know. From the tour guides to all the countless volunteers, Hadassah’s Centennial Convention was a success! We are poised for another 100 years, as Hadassah’s “Bridge to Peace” mission is unwavering. There is more on the convention in this bulletin. See my photo album on Facebook – Dallas Chapter of Hadassah.
As this year concludes I would like to mention unsung heroes to our organization’s success:
A special thanks to Rachel Weinstein, journalist at Texas Jewish Post, for her continued coverage before and after the Israel celebration and throughout our Centennial year. Our chapter membership in Dallas is over 2000 strong and as a non- profit, we depend on delivering news, events, and advertising through TJP.
Another BIG thank you goes to the countless volunteers here in Dallas. Without our volunteers and board members we would not survive. We have volunteer opportunities that require as little as 30 minutes to those that require skill and significant time commitments. No matter how much time you can devote to Hadassah, we need you and can use you! Please email me at email@example.com and share how you would like to be involved. You’ll feel good knowing the time you contribute supports an organization that is saving lives. VIP - we are looking for someone to manage our 2013 Directory project. Please consider helping or heading this very important project.
Last but not least, I want to thank my wonderful husband, Sheldon and my amazing kids! They are really the wind beneath my wings. Without the support of my family, I could not give my time to Hadassah. They know my efforts are theirs to share.
Here’s to a peaceful, happy and prosperous 2013!
