Message from the President

As I open up my Hadassah emails, I am always reminded that Hadassah woman are truly a wonderful group. We have our hearts in the right place and we are doing the right work; for the good of humanity. The Hadassah Hospital along with our other projects are an inspiration in these tumultuous times.

We are all busy, yet we seem to make time for Hadassah and each other. I just want to commend you and ask you to keep up your good work.

This summer we came together in the Flathead Valley hosted by Kay Gersh in her lovely home overlooking Whitefish Lake. Laura Green inspired us and updated us on happenings in the Desert Region (of which we are a part).

One of the important outcomes of our gathering was to create a new approach to sharing the responsibilities of the position of President, forming a committee to take on the roles of Administrator, Statement Meeting Coordinator, Mail Receiver/Respondent, and Regional Representatives. These positions, along with the several others required to run our organization, are listed in the page under "Contact Us". Much thanks to the many women who came to the meeting, lent their ideas, and volunteered to empower our efforts!

Our annual Hadassah weekend was held on October 2-4, 2009 in conjunction with the Montana Association of Jewish Communities (MAJCO) Shabbaton and hosted by the Har Shalom Congregation in Missoula. In addition to our annual white elephant auction, we created interesting gift boxes that we sold. The fund raising effort contributes to our ability to support Hadassah's national and international activities.

We are now beginning to plan the year 2010 events. Contact your regional representative, Nancy Oyer, or myself with any questions or suggestions.

Our annual meeting in 2010 will be June 11-13. I look forward to seeing you all there,

Heidi Goldman

Administrator for the Montana Chapter of Hadassah 2009-2010
