Here are some ideas for fund raisers. Let us know if you have some others to suggest. We suggest that fundraisers be open to the public. It is a great way for people to learn about our work.
Gift Boxes Wrapped with Care!
The women in the Flathead Valley created a very productive fund raiser. They took empty little gift boxes, wrapped them in beautiful paper, tied each box with colorful ribbon, and added a tag with the following words:
This is a very special gift
Whenever you are lonely,
You can never unwrap it.
The boxes were sold at the MAJCO Shabbaton for $5.00 or 4 boxes for $20.
Women's Wellness Programs!
An interesting idea for raising funds for Hadassah is to build on the Hadassah medical mission. Help create awareness in your local area by hosting or supporting a Women's Wellness Program.
Great Falls had a wonderful Women's Wellness day in September 2008. Six speakers--a yoga teacher, a psychologist, a nurse practitioner, and other medical professionals--spoke and answered questions ranging from building personal strength and self-esteem to lowering stress.
Heidi Goldman has made an offer to teach a yoga class in your area and the cost of the class would be a donation which would go to Hadassah.
If this interests you, feel free to call her at (406) 459-7673 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Heidi is a certified Yoga Instructor with 33 years of experience: her work with balls of all sizes--the Yoga Equipoise System (YES! Yoga)--is unique, extremely fun, and therapeutic. The balls allow people of all ages and physical condition to enjoy movement; learning to sink, release and elongate, moving deeply into each pose. Exploring movement in this way can be a very personal spiritual experience.
For 2009, the first class was held in Helena March 29: the second workshop was in Bigfork on April 19 and another in Whitefish August 30,
