JEWISH JOURNEYS - ROSH HODESH STUDY GROUP

Join our chapter's study group as we journey through Modern Jewish Intellectual History. This year the group will travel in a new direction, guided by a set of DVD lectures by award-winning and vibrant University of Pennsylvania professor David B. Ruderman. Each month we will start our session with a very short Hasidic tale, watch a 30-minute lecture and then discuss it. Professor Ruderman will guide us from the 16th century in the Ghetto of Venice, Italy through Spain, Germany and other European countries to the 20th century in the United States, focusing on various personalities exemplifying a range of trends in Jewish thought.

Rosh Hodesh is considered a women's holiday and in our chapter we celebrate it by studying together, traveling along the road to deepened Jewish identity. Along the way we strengthen our camaraderie as well as our knowledge.

No prior background is required. All are welcome.

This year's dates are:

Wednesday, April 30     Thursday, May 29         Monday, June 30.
