Young Women of Westhcester (YWWH)
Please join the Young Women of Westchester chapter of Hadassah (YWWH) on , as we enjoy "An Evening of Art with Israeli artist Naama Tsabar." Tsabar is a performance and installation artist. Installation art is a type of modern art in which the artist uses a space (for example, a room), along with various items (anything from guitars, tubes of lipstick, wine bottles, and beyond) to create a masterpiece of "live" artistic expression. Typically, the chosen items fill the space, and the viewer is often able to move around and interact with the art.
The roots of Tsabar's work are grounded in her experience playing in a band and performing in concert halls and trendy venues. She often draws her inspiration from these urban nocturnal environments, and uses items normally found in them (like musical instruments and stage curtains), for her installation art exhibitions. Her art explores power, sexuality and gender through sensual experience.
Naama is a Jewish artist who was born in Israel, and currently lives in Brooklyn. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in New York, and her bachelor's degree from the Hamidrasha School of Arts in Israel. Her work has been featured in the MoMA PS1 (New York), The Tel Aviv Museum (Israel), and Art Basel 38 (Switzerland), among many other prestigious venues.
