They packed their things into 12 suitcases, gave them to their daughters and said they will meet them in Israel. While the daughters flew with the baggage, the parents drove from London through France and Italy to Naples. From there they crossed the Mediterranean on a ship with their car to Haifa port, and drove again to the absorption center in Mevaseret Zion – their first home in Israel.

  • NEW YORK – Young Judaea inked an agreement this week that positions it “a short time away” from becoming an independent organization, the youth movement said today in a joint announcement with Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, which has been its parent and sole sponsor since 1967.
