Training Wheels Policy

Families registering to participate in Training Wheels/Wheeling On/Al Galgalim will be enrolled in the following order:

New families who have never before participated in Al-Galgalim/Training Wheels/Wheeling On, and who have registered during the open registration period.

Returning families who registered during the open registration period, are entering a new child or children in the program, and who have good attendance records from their previous participation. Good attendance means arrival at class on time and attended all or most classes.

Returning families who registered during the open registration period, are re-entering the same child or children in the program, and have good attendance records from their previous participation.

Families meeting these criteria will then be enrolled in order of registration and payment date. Registrations without payment will not be considered.

Hadassah Action will make every effort to accommodate all families who register.

Hadassah Action will also make every effort to notify families as soon as possible after their registration if they are waitlisted. Please note, however, that Training Wheels/Wheeling On/Al Galgalim is run and staffed entirely by volunteers, and that the number of classes and places available ultimately depends on the number of volunteer facilitators. Volunteer facilitators' children are guaranteed a tuition-free spot in the program, so please consider volunteering to be a facilitator!

Although Action tries very hard to recruit and train facilitators as early as possible, it is sometimes the case that the final number of volunteer facilitators, and therefore the final number of available spaces, is not known until fairly close to the start of the first class. We therefore reserve the right to waitlist families up until a week before the first scheduled class.

Waitlisted families who are not admitted by the day of the first class are eligible for a full tuition refund. Waitlisted families admitted after the first class are eligible for pro-rated tuition. If a family is a "no-show" at the first class, we will admit a waitlisted family between the first and second class. However, we do not admit families mid-year. One of the goals of Training Wheels/Wheeling On/Al Galgalim is to build community and give families the benefit of the full program. Therefore, we encourage families not admitted by the second class to wait and participate in full the next year.

Enrolled families who are not waitlisted but withdraw from the program before the first class, are eligible for a full tuition refund. However, the Hadassah membership fee will not be refunded.

Families withdrawing from the program not later than a week after the first class, are eligible for a refund of pro-rated tuition. Pro-rated tuition refunds for families withdrawing later than a week after the first class, but before the second class, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please note that the Hadassah membership fee will not be refunded in either case. There will be no refunds for withdrawals as of the day of the second class or later. In addition, please note that all withdrawals must be given in writing to the Training Wheels/Wheeling On/Al Galgalim Coordinator, not to class facilitators.
