Hadassah Chicago Chapter is a diverse group of over 6,500 women from all ages and stages of life. We are a strong, dynamic, and progressive volunteer organization committed to serving the varied interests, needs, and desires of our community, our members, and the fulfillment of the Hadassah mission. Chicago Chapter remains an integral part of Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc., which is the largest women's, non-profit organization in the United States.
Since Chicago was already a center for Jewish life, education and ideals, a group of dedicated women chartered Hadassah Chicago Chapter in 1913, one year after the founding of the national organization by Henrietta Szold. More than 90 years later, Hadassah Chicago Chapter has grown to a membership of more than 6,500 with more than 30 diverse groups defined by age, geographic area and/or interest, meeting daytime or evening, serving the Greater Metropolitan Chicago area.
