Hadassah is proud to be the initator of Check It Out, an award winning health awareness program brough to students as a community service.  Check It Out emphasizes the importance of caring for your body and develops an awareness of self-examination as a means of early detection of breast and testicular cancer.

Education and viligance are prime factors in cancer prevention. Since 1912, Hadassah has dedicated itself to health care, research, youth and education. Hadassah has organized medical clinics and eye clinics in every corner of the globe including Kenya, China, Poland, Honduras and Lebanon.

In Chicago, Hadassah informs and urges its 6,500 members to advocate legislation and action on behalf of women, families and health issues. Some of these issues include breast cancer, substance abuse, bone marrow transplant resgistry, AIDS education and prevention, violence against women and children and reproductive choice.
