Our Groups



Most members are over 60 but all ages are welcome.  Meetings are held at 1:30 the second Wednesday of the month.  Program meetings will be scheduled every two months with book club held the alternating months.  Members are from the Meyerland, West University, Bellaire, Medical Center and Galleria areas.  Members are working and non-working women with varied interests.   Programs include a variety of topics with speakers from the fields of education, entertainment, culture, politics, medicine, current events, and Jewish interest.


All ages.  This dynamic group of dynamic women serves the West University, Bellaire, Medical Center, Galleria, Meyerland and central Houston area.  Meetings are held in the evenings and usually consist of intellectually stimulating programs. Chagall also hosts a monthly Wednesday eve non-fiction study group, which covers a wide variety of topics, and a Sunday afternoon fiction book discussion group.


Ages 20’s – 90’s.  Serving northern areas from Kingwood/Humble to Copperfield and from FM 1960 to Conroe.  Regular monthly meetings are held on Sunday mornings at The Terrace, 7575 Willow Chase Boulevard unless otherwise noted. Some programs and some meetings are held on Sunday afternoons.  Chai sponsors a wide range of programs including world affairs, holiday celebrations, health and self-improvement, and a study group, all with Hadassah’s mission as their underlying themes.


Ages 45 and up.  Working and non-working women with flexible hours.  Most live in the Galleria, Memorial and West area.  Meetings are held during the day on a Wednesday or Thursday, have a speaker or program and include lunch. Speakers touch on a wide range of topics including health, the Houston cultural scene, current events in Israel, and holiday celebrations. There are Special Interest Groups such as book club, gourmet cooking, the arts, study, and Mah Jongg.  There are also some events that include spouses.


Varied ages.  Serving the Clear Lake, Galveston, Alvin, Texas City, Dickinson, Pearland, Friendswood, Seabrook and Kemah areas.  Meetings are held monthly on Sunday afternoons.  Programs include Book Club, Membership Tea, Sukkot dinner with Havdalah service and also a Passover Tasting/Sharing.  Motivational speakers, nutrition and fitness and a spring Mah Jongg Tournament are part of our programming.  A Holiday Bazaar is held annually.


50’s-60’s .  Our members are a mix of working and non-working women and pull from the southwest part of Houston in Meyerland/Bellaire area.  Evening meetings are held during 2nd week of the month on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  There are occasional pot luck dinners before meetings.  Programs consist of a wide range of topics and speakers including Israel experts, evenings at the theater, health, beauty and fitness, nutrition, expert/healthy cooking demo and an annual Mah Jongg tournament.


Ages 35-50’s.  Our group is a dynamic, fun group of married and single women with and without children.  Most are from Meyerland, West University, Bellaire, and Memorial.  Evening meetings are generally held Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (dates vary so we can include more of our members).  Schmooze 7:00 PM, meeting and programs begin 7:30 PM.  Programs include health and fitness, travel, sandwich generation, fashion, and cooking.  Ladies Night Out may find us at a local play or restaurant.


Ages 40-60.  Serving west Houston.  Meetings are held monthly in the evening.  Programming is varied including health issues, Jewish traditions, fashion, gourmet cooking, and an annual Mah Jongg tournament.


Ages 21-35.  Machar is the youngest group in the Houston Chapter and welcomes all active, dynamic and fun girls, single or married.  Machar meetings include a variety of topics - fitness, cooking, health and beauty, social issues and much more!  Meetings are usually held the third Thursday evening of every month.  We’d love to hear from you.  You can also check us our on Facebook!


All ages.  Serving Fort Bend County including Stafford, Missouri City, Sugar Land, Richmond and Rosenberg.  Meetings alternate between Thursday evening, Friday mornings, and Sundays.  Innovative programming including cooking demonstration, crafts, champagne brunches, fashion shows, celebrity speakers and programs of Jewish interest.  Monthly book club meets 3rd Tuesday at 1 PM at Barnes & Noble, Sugar Land.  Monthly “Lunch and Learn” meets 3rd Friday at 11:30 AM .


Ages 30’s-50’s.  The group meets monthly on Thursday or Friday in the late morning., generally 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Members live in the Southwest (Central/WestU/Bellaire/Meyerland) area of town. Flexible meeting times for those who work (we usually try to accommodate those who might come over the lunch hour).  Our programming includes speakers on a variety of topics (Jewish and current events, lifestyle and health issues, etc.), cooking demonstrations, fitness and health, book talks, and occasionally a visit to a gallery or museum along with lunch.


Seniors, married, single, and widowed women from the southwest area.  Meetings are held 2nd Wednesday of the month and always include lunch and socializing.  We hold an annual Linen Shower for the infant nursery at Ein Kerem.  Programs are generally of Jewish content, Chanukah program with music, Passover wine tasting.


Seniors.  We have morning meetings in the southwest area with lunch following. Our programs are varied—often relating to Israel and/or Judaism.  We always end our meetings with a cake to announce our simchas, give a donation and light a candle on the cake.


Made up of mature married and single women in the southwest area of Houston, 77025, 77056, 77071, 77096, 77081, 77098.  Meetings are held 2nd Wednesday of the month in late mornings with lunch at various sites around our area. Programming is varied with a Jewish theme and Hadassah projects.  Annual Shabbat tea recognizes our own “Women of distinction”.
