July 2017 Associates Update

Meet Jim Rotenberg, President, Hadassah Associates
James (Jim) C. Rotenberg and his wife, Carol, have been involved in Hadassah for over 50 years and are members of the Society of Major Donors. As president, Jim is committed to furthering the National Committee of Hadassah Associates mission to advance medical research, healing and education in the US, Israel and around the world. Under his leadership, Associates are raising funds for Alzheimer's disease research at the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO).

Jim and Carol live in Lawrence, part of the Five Towns on Long Island, NY. They belong to the Hewlett Chapter of Hadassah Nassau, are active in numerous local charities and organizations, and have twin sons and five grandchildren. A trustee and its past president of Temple Israel of Lawrence, Jim was elected Associates president in May, following stints as trustee, vice president, and executive VP. Carol serves as National Co-Chair of Major Gifts Development and is a fifth-generation life member.

Jim, whose family escaped to Cuba and ultimately to the US from Berlin shortly after Kristallnacht, grew up in the Inwood Section of Upper Manhattan. Jim is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science, the University of Wisconsin (Madison), and the New York University School of Law. Jim retired as a special advisor to Buck Consultants and as a principal and director of Global M&A from Mellon's Human Resources & Investor Services, after having associated with the law firms of Shearman & Sterling, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Jim is the founder of and a principal in JCR Consulting.
