Muriel Zimmerman

Muriel Zimmerman

Regency Chapter, Southern New Jersey Region
Regency, Monroe Township, NJ

Muriel worked as a top account executive in the garment center for 42 years selling ladies sportswear to large account customers such as Walmart. She and her husband, Howard, have recently retired to Regency in Monroe, NJ.

What keeps you busy?

Needle crafts and knitting. I'm always working on something, especially for my granddaughter. Staying healthy has become a major focus and I enjoy going to the gym regularly.

What are your Interests/hobbies?

We have recently moved to Regency in Monroe, NJ., and I enjoy the pools, playing cards and Mah Jongg, and Hadassah.

Why did you become a member?

The activities and group functions they offer are interesting and enjoyable. There are book club speakers, fashion shows and trips to name a few—charity events, luncheons, dinners. The group truly made me feel welcome.

One thing we should know about you:

I'm a Brooklyn girl and am loving retirement.

Coretta Turner

Coretta Turner

Dallas Chapter, Greater Southwest Region
Dallas, TX

Coretta is the CEO/President of 3D Discovery, LLC. and the creator of the 3D Voice Public Speaking for Children & Teens program. She is a passionate community advocate, coach and public speaker committed to empowering the voices of our youth so that they become more confident as they discover their authentic voices through learning the basics of public speaking. Coretta has spent over 15 years volunteering for organizations that meet the needs of the impoverished, empower women and girls and serve to enrich the lives of youth.

What keeps you busy?

Growing my two year old business, 3D Discovery keeps me busy. Most days are spent identifying youth organizations and schools where I can conduct my 3D Voice Public Speaking for Children & Teens program.

What are your interests/hobbies?

My hobbies include swing dancing and teaching practical life skills to the youth at one of Dallas' Juvenile Detention Center.

Why did you become a member?

Initially, I was invited by a friend. I found the members to be warm, inviting and quite supportive. I was impressed by the pride the members expressed as they discussed Hadassah's programs and Hadassah's international charitable work/contributions.

One thing we should know about you:

The one thing that you should know about me is that although I am public speaker and teach public speaking to children, I am actually an introvert.

Jennifer Steinberg

Jennifer Steinberg

Wilmington Chapter, Northern Seaboard Region
Wilmington, DE

Married since 2003 to Mitch, mother of two daughters, both Hadassah Lifetime members (Dylan, 8; Tessa, 3)

What keeps you busy?

Being a professional Jewish community volunteer including serving my local Hadassah chapter as Social Media chair, two terms on the Siegel JCC board of directors, member of the Congregation Beth Emeth Board of Directors, and co-chair of both the Jewish Federation of Delaware Mitzvah Day and the Young Leadership delegation to TribeFest 2014. I also do Social Media consulting for non-profits and am the primary caregiver for my daughters.

What are your Interests/hobbies?

When I'm not serving organizations, I enjoy helping out in the JCC community garden, my book group, engaging with likeminded people via social media, and cooking.

Why did you become a member?

I was given a recording of my great grandmother talking about her early life in the US after emigrating from Palestine in the 1910's. One of the stories she told was about her husband's sister who enjoyed writing and putting on plays as fundraisers for Hadassah during that same time period. The family connection is what got me to join, the people I have met locally and the national platform of supporting women's issues is what made me become a Lifetime Member.

One thing we should know about you:

I have lived in Delaware for 13 years but I am originally from Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
