Combating the Delegitimization of Israel
Hadassah is a staunch advocate against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement and all efforts aimed to tarnish and delegitimize the State of Israel. Hadassah maintains its long-standing policy against all forms of organized boycotts—opposing destructive actions in favor of constructive dialogue in order to pursue a future of peace in the Middle East.
Hadassah, in collaboration with the Israel Action Network, developed How to Talk about Israel, a guide to effective pro-Israel advocacy. This guide combines fundamental techniques and core messages designed to help supporters effectively respond to challenging questions about Israel. How to Talk about Israel also includes role-play Scenarios for Effective Communication, and resources to highlight Israel’s shared values with the U.S., the newest Israeli technological advances and Israel’s leadership in world health.
Hadassah at the UN
Since 2001, Hadassah has held special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Members of the UN team attend United Nations meetings and briefings in New York, Vienna and Geneva, helping Hadassah build coalitions with other organizations, advocate for women's health and equality, and support the State of Israel. Hadassah participates in the yearly Commission on the Status of Women and United Nations Department of Public Information conferences, and works closely with the Israeli Mission and other Jewish non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Influentials to Israel (I2I)
More than 2000 influential people have visited Hadassah projects in Israel since 1996. US statesmen, legislators, hospital administrators, physicians, business leaders, artists and entertainers have visited Hadassah hospitals and clinics, Youth Aliyah villages and Young Judaea sites. Visits by influential leaders help Hadassah and Israel by promoting a strong US-Israel relationship, foreign aid, and other legislative concerns of importance.
