Unwavering Support for Israel & the 38th World Zionist Congress

Zionist Affairs | Jan 2020

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. reaffirms its steadfast dedication to Zionism, the State and people of Israel, and robust advocacy for strengthening the US-Israel relationship.

As American Zionists and as Hadassah members, Associates and supporters, we have both the opportunity and responsibility to vote for the Jewish future in Israel and around the world. In the fall of 2020, the 38th World Zionist Congress (WZC) will meet in Jerusalem to make essential decisions regarding institutional leadership and funding for Israel and world Jewry. All supporters of Israel in the US can participate online in Zionist Election 2020, organized by the American Zionist Movement, between January 21 and March 11.

Many in the pro-Israel community are deeply passionate and committed to individual ideas for how best to support and defend the Jewish homeland. Hadassah reaffirms that there is room for all who love Israel and support her right to exist as a Jewish and democratic state to join that discussion and make their voices heard.

In the US, we must continue to educate our elected officials about the realities and needs of Israel as a modern democracy, indispensable ally, and strategic partner of the United States. Hadassah applauds bipartisan efforts in Washington to show that the United States rejects the delegitimization of Israel and global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, and affirms Israel's right to defend itself from terrorist attacks. Bipartisanship is a tenet of the US-Israel relationship that must never be jeopardized.

Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc.:

  • Promotes open dialogue within the pro-Israel community and celebrates what unites us— shared identity, love of Israel, and commitment to Jewish traditions and values.
  • Calls on America’s leaders to support the United States’ unwavering support for Israel and champion bipartisan support as a hallmark of that relationship.
  • Urges all units to educate and mobilize their members and communities to participate in Zionist Election 2020 and to advocate for a strong, peaceful, and secure Israel.
