Dear Hadassah members and friends,
Welcome to Hadassah Chicago-North Shore! When I joined Hadassah at the age of 26, I never imagined that I’d be writing to you today as President of Hadassah Chicago-North Shore. Motivated by friendship and developing connections in the Jewish community, I was introduced to Hadassah by a friend who had recently founded Ariel Hadassah, a young women’s group. I was quickly recruited into helping to plan fundraisers and other social events, and within a few years, I became President of that group. Then I was invited to be on the Chicago Chapter board, and later on, the newly formed Hadassah Chicago-North Shore region board. The rest, as they say, is history.
Throughout all of my leadership roles, I have had the opportunity to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and learn more about the priorities and mission of Hadassah: health care and medical research, education, connection to Israel and women’s empowerment.
What started from my desire to meet new friends transformed into purpose and passion. After immersing myself in the history and culture of Hadassah, I was hooked. I had found my place. Hadassah checked so many boxes for me. Through support of Hadassah and its many meaningful projects, I can engage in tikkun olam, helping to repair the world, making a difference in ways that matter to me.
If you are not already a member, I encourage you to join us . Our 11,000 Hadassah members and male Associates live in every corner of the Chicagoland area and represent every age and stage of life. We welcome both Jews and non-Jews of all backgrounds who support the mission of Hadassah: “...inspiring a passion for and commitment to the land, the people and the future of Israel. Through education, advocacy and youth development, as well as our support of medical care and research at Hadassah Medical Organization, Hadassah enhances the health and lives of the people in Israel, the United States and worldwide.”
If you desire to get involved and connected with other members, we will help you find a pathway. There are so many options. Please email cns@hadassah.org with the subject “get connected.” If you want to be a supporter but don’t have time for the events, we welcome you too.
