Hadassah Brooklyn began in 1921. We provide programs of interest all over the borough of Brooklyn, at all times of the day and evening, every day of the week, every month of the year. We are comprised of all denominations of Jewish observance. Region events observe the laws of kashrut and respect Shabbat.
360 Degrees of Healing
Hadassah Medical Organization, founded by Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. has defined health care in Israel. It’s about compassion. It’s about healing. It’s about life.
Hadassah is the founder of Israel’s modern health-care system and has been tireless in maintaining the highest standards for more than 100 years. Since 1960, the population of Jerusalem has tripled, and the demands on the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) and Hadassah Hospital at the Ein Kerem campus have grown exponentially. Hadassah must respond—and we must look forward. So HMO begins, first by completely reimagining the iconic Round Building, the hospital’s original inpatient center at Ein Kerem. With this renovation and expansion, the new Round Building will be an important healing center for Israel. It will significantly advance the services in its outpatient surgery, maternity, oncology, and dermatology departments.

From our President
Dear Hadassah Sisters, Associates and Friends,
Mission Possible: the 2019 Hadassah Convention in New York City
It has been more than a decade since the Hadassah National Convention has been held in our neighborhood. This is a wonderful opportunity for our members to join with hundreds of women from across the United States to learn more about the life affirming work of Hadassah.
I attended my first Hadassah Convention more than twenty years ago when it was held in New York City. I was impressed with the quality and commitment of national Hadassah leadership, especially Hadassah President Marlene Post. I was fascinated by the stories of the impact our efforts were having to better the lives of people in Israel and the health of people throughout the world. And I was thrilled to hear from a great man, Abba Eban, in person.
This convention, Mission Possible, is your chance to add your power to tens of thousands of women and expand Hadassah's impact around the world — from New York to California, in Israel and around the globe. Be inspired, invigorated, and educated as Hadassah’s mission comes alive on the main stage and in engaging workshops — July 15-18, 2019!
Here are some reasons why you don’t want to miss this opportunity.
You will connect and network with like-minded women of all ages — including a new young women's track — while you learn new leadership skills and celebrate Hadassah, The Power of Women Who DO.
You will meet Israel's leading medical experts, who will bring you up-to-date on their lifesaving research and treatments at the Hadassah Medical Organization and hear firsthand from HMO patients who owe their lives to HMO healing.
You will hear from influential speakers, including sessions on media bias, the power of Israel's positive message, fighting anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, women's health equity and more.
And together we will have fun! We’ll dine together. We’ll enjoy live music, cocktail receptions, networking breakfasts, dancing, and even Zumba.
You can attend the convention as a delegate and vote on important organization issues at the business session. If you want to be a delegate let Esther Lefkowitz at the Brooklyn office know.
If you can’t commit to spend the full three days at convention you can volunteer (call or email Esther) to work for three hours and attend the rest of that day’s sessions.
I hope to see you at our Our Health: Our Heritage luncheon on June 24 and then at our 99th National Convention.
