Gala Award

We are very happy to report that the National Office of Hadassah has recognized our efforts to support heart research at our "Ya Gotta Have Heart" gala.   Thank you to the hard work and dedication of our members.

From our President

The April meeting was our last general daytime “Meeting of the Month” until September but we are having a “grand finale” on May 15th.  This will be an evening meeting with dinner and a speaker you won’t want to miss.  Reservations are REQUIRED and your reservation must be received no later than May 7th.

Our speaker will be Robert ‘Bob” Sieck, a rocket scientist, father, grandfather, volunteer, and much much more.  He is a former director of Shuttle Processing and former Launch Director.  He started his career at NASA in 1964 as a journeyman engineer and was responsible for the medical instrumentation that the astronauts wore in the early program.  Over the years, Bob continued to be promoted to various positions and eventually to Launch Director.   He retired after 35 years with NASA but continues to consult with NASA.  Bob also dedicates his time to a number of non-profits that provide scholarships for kids in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) field.

You won’t want to miss this fantastic speaker as well as a wonderful buffet.  Please see the flyer in the newsletter and make your reservation immediately.  Bring your spouse, a neighbor, or a friend.  You won’t be disappointed.

I hope many of you were able to take advantage of our “Dine Around Town” on April 24th at Pizza Gallery & Grill in The Avenue.  It’s a fun and easy way to raise money for Hadassah.  It is like “found money” and goes to a good cause.

Our Planning Meetings will be at Temple Beth Sholom the first Tuesday of June, July, and August beginning at 10:00AM.  Your Board will work hard to plan fun and interesting events but we can’t do it without all of you.  We need your help and support and encourage you to attend the meetings.  We are very interested in your ideas and would love the opportunity for you to share them with us.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please contact one of your Board members and share your ideas.

Remember, we belong to an organization that raises funds for hospitals, research, advocacy, local & national issues, and of course, women’s health, etc.  This is where Hadassah’s fundraising comes in.  Please consider helping us meet our “goals” by suggesting things you would like to see us plan and participate in as many as you can.

                                              AND OF COURSE, VOLUNTEER.
