Michael Oren is an American-born Israeli historian, soldier, and bestselling author who served as Israel’s Ambassador to the United States from 2009 to 2013 and later as a Member of the Knesset and Deputy Minister of Diplomacy in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Throughout his illustrious career as a Middle East scholar, Oren has been a fellow at the Atlantic Council and the Wilson Center and a visiting professor at Harvard, Yale, and Georgetown. His books include Six Days of War, Power, Faith, Fantasy: America in the Middle East from 1776 to the Present, and Ally: My Journey Across the American-Israeli Divide, and his latest writing can be found on his Substack, Clarity.

Our brave IDF soldiers fight for the survival of the State of Israel and all of its people. But those who suffer serious injuries fight their second battle to regain function and independence through rehabilitation. In this plenary, you will hear firsthand stories of the rehabilitation process in our state-of-the-art Gandel Rehabilitation Center at Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus.
A recent study from the Gender Equity Policy Institute found that women in states with abortion bans are twice as likely to die during pregnancy. Maternal health outcomes are suffering, and funding, research and protections for women’s health and reproductive choice are under attack in many states and nationally. We’ll be joined by healthcare professionals, advocates for reproductive freedom and policy experts, all leaders in their fields, who’ll give us an inside look at how providers and patients are navigating threats to reproductive freedom and feeling the impact of restrictions to these essential healthcare services. This conversation focuses on how Hadassah can continue to advocate for the full spectrum of reproductive care, ranging from abortion to IVF, and champion access to lifesaving medical care for all.
Panelists include Dr. Mimi Zieman (invited), a physician, author and advocate who created the Post-Roe Monologues, who’ll offer her perspective as an OB/GYN and her unique advocacy journey through art, and Allison Tombros Korman, founder of the Red Tent Fund, who’ll share stories of how her intersectional advocacy for both the State of Israel and reproductive rights led her to create an organization that supports access to abortion regardless of religion or background.
Allison (she/her) brings two decades of nonprofit leadership in reproductive health and rights and organizational strategy to her role as founder of the Red Tent Fund. As founding executive director of Culture of Respect, she led a groundbreaking national initiative to end campus sexual violence. She later served as senior operations and strategy director at the DC Abortion Fund until resigning in 2023 in response to antisemitic conduct by staff and board. Throughout her career, she has designed and implemented strategic programs for major organizations, including USAID, CDC and the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals.
Korman holds a master of health sciences from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a BA in English and women’s studies from the University of Michigan. She has additional certifications in Restorative Justice Facilitation from the University of San Diego and Executive Facilitation from Georgetown University.

The Meir Shfeyah and Hadassah Neurim Youth Aliyah villages help set at-risk children in Israel, and those who choose to make Israel their home, on the path to a successful future. Join Gidon Melmed, deputy executive director for development at Hadassah Offices in Israel, for a powerful and personal Q&A with medical professionals from the Hadassah Medical Organization. Hear firsthand accounts of their day-to-day lives inside the hospital, both before and since the events of October 7, 2023, as they share the challenges, resilience and unwavering commitment to care that define their work on the frontlines of Israeli healthcare.
Lisa Hostein, Hadassah Magazine’s executive editor, moderates a special in-person episode of Hadassah Magazine Presents with a panel of book industry insiders who will discuss the challenges for Jewish authors amid the current climate of antisemitism, boycotts and cancel culture. Are American Jewish and Israeli authors and Jewish-themed books having a harder time getting published since October 7, 2023? Are there new options and opportunities out there, or is it all bleak? We’ll explore these issues and more with a prestigious lineup of speakers.
This plenary will examine the rise of antisemitism on college campuses, the role of social media in amplifying harmful rhetoric and its global spread. We will explore the responsibilities of institutions, activists and individuals in combating antisemitism by challenging this dangerous trend, promoting education and fostering inclusivity worldwide.
Sen. Dafna Michaelson Jenet serves as president pro tempore in the Colorado State Senate after seven years in the House of Representatives. Her legislative work focuses on youth mental health, healthcare access and foster youth advocacy. Inspired by her son's suicide attempt at age 9, she created the groundbreaking iMatter program, providing six free therapy sessions to school-aged children, which has served over 15,000 Colorado youth. Sen. Michaelson Jenet recently passed historic legislation mandating Holocaust and genocide education in Colorado high schools. She previously served as director of the Holocaust Awareness Institute at the University of Denver and director of March of the Living for New York. She is a former president of the Hadassah Denver Chapter, and she had served on the Desert Mountain Region Board. Her book, It Takes a Little Crazy to Make a Difference, chronicles her journey to all 50 states and was recognized by the International Book Awards.
Jaclyn Clark is a Florida-based attorney who serves as counsel at The Lawfare Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating antisemitism through strategic litigation and advocacy. Clark joined The Lawfare Project in June of 2024 after working as an employment law litigator in private practice for nearly a decade. After spending the greater part of her career defending Fortune 500 companies against employment discrimination claims, it was especially jarring for Clark to witness the double standards and selective outrage applied toward Israel and the Jewish people in the aftermath of October 7, 2023. She was inspired to use her legal experience to help defend the civil rights of the Jewish people as a result.
