About this episode

Hadassah Magazine Executive Editor Lisa Hostein, the host of Hadassah Magazine Presents, moderates a panel of prestigious literary insiders discussing the challenges and opportunities facing Jewish authors amid the current climate of rising antisemitism.

Their conversation explores how Jewish literature has evolved — from serving as a gateway to Jewish acceptance in American society to becoming a target of boycotts and cancel culture.

They address the troubling ways some American Jewish and Israeli authors, along with Jewish-themed books, have been facing greater difficulty getting published and promoted in the last several years, especially since October 7, 2023. But the situation isn't entirely bleak, as they also highlight new opportunities and options that have emerged amid this trying climate. This is an important discussion for any book lover concerned about antisemitism and the future of Jewish publishing. It’s an episode you won't want to miss.
