About our guest(s)

Mary Morris is the author of numerous novels, including Gateway to the Moon, three collections of short stories, and five travel memoirs, including, All the Way to the Tigers – one of NPR’s best books of 2020. Her travel memoir, Nothing to Declare: Memoirs of a Woman Traveling Alone, is a classic in its genre.  Her stories and essays have appeared in such places as The Atlantic, The Paris Review, and The New York Times. The recipient of the Rome Prize in Literature and the 2016 Anisfield-Wolf Award for Fiction, Morris taught for many years at Princeton University and Sarah Lawrence College. Her latest, The Red House, represents her third novel in which she explores buried or lost histories.  She lives with her family, dog and a parrot in Brooklyn, New York.
