In each of the past three years, the fundraiser has attracted at least 500 donors and raised more than $450,000, bringing the three-year total to over $1,350,000.
The fundraising event offers meaningful recognition for donors at every level. Contributions ranging from $250 to $100,000 are displayed on signs along the walk route, while donations of $1,800 and above are featured on the official walk t-shirts. Beyond fundraising, the Walk features a Mitzvah Project that educates participants and reinforces Hadassah's mission of healing, service and medical innovation.
This event truly brings every element together. With an accessible $54 household registration fee and meaningful opportunities to give at every level, it seamlessly bridges grassroots participation and major-gift philanthropy. At the same time, it creates a powerful membership-building opportunity, welcoming participants of all ages and deepening their connection to Hadassah. The fundraising event offers meaningful recognition for donors at every level. Contributions ranging from $250 to $100,000 are displayed on signs along the walk route, while donations of $1,800 and above are featured on the official walk t-shirts. Beyond fundraising, the Walk features a Mitzvah Project that educates participants and reinforces Hadassah's mission of healing, service and medical innovation.
This event truly brings every element together. With an accessible $54 household registration fee and meaningful opportunities to give at every level, it seamlessly bridges grassroots participation and major-gift philanthropy. At the same time, it creates a powerful membership-building opportunity, welcoming participants of all ages and deepening their connection to Hadassah. For the past 15 years, Hadassah Nassau — led by Associates Chair Jim Rotenberg — has partnered with Associates to raise funds for Hadassah’s groundbreaking research in stem cell therapy, immunotherapy, CAR-T and other cutting-edge medical advances. Hadassah Suffolk has joined this effort for the past three years.
Each year, the collaboration comes together through the annual Hadassah Walks Long Island for Stem Cell Research and Beyond, held in early May. Leadership includes Hadassah Nassau President Lynne Gordon, Hadassah Suffolk President Heidi Sorkin, Nassau Chair Roz Meyerson and Suffolk Chair Vickie Moskowitz.
Supporters take a scenic one mile walk at the Nassau County Museum of Art while advancing lifechanging medical research. The Hadassah Walks Long Island for Stem Cell Research and Beyond has grown into one of our most successful fundraising events. Each year, approximately 250–300 people participate in this walk.
