My late grandfather was often hospitalized in Hadassah, and as a child I spent many hours with him in the hospital. I watched the doctors, nurses and the rest of the staff, and I felt from a young age that I belonged here and really wanted to work here some day. Therefore, when I started studying nursing, I had no doubt where I wanted to work.
In the second year of my studying, I started working at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem as a nursing student in the pediatric surgery department. When I became a nurse, I continued working there. About six months after graduating, I was already the charge nurse of the shift. Pediatric surgery is a department where surgeries and treatments are performed in different and diverse fields such as neurosurgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, urology, orthopedics, heart and chest surgery and more, and therefore I had the opportunity to learn from every field and specialize more and more as a nurse.
After several years, I decided to study midwifery, I was certified as a certified midwife and since then, I work in the delivery room at Hadassah Hospital Mount Scopus.
In May 2022, in light of the Russian-Ukrainian war, I was sent on behalf of Hadassah International to a humanitarian mission in the refugee camp on the Poland-Ukraine border. The Hadassah Clinic was established there by the best Hadassah doctors and nurses, and I felt so proud taking part in the delegation, and to be part of the Hadassah family. During the delegation, I had the privilege of meeting Jorge Diener, CEO of Hadassah International, who told me that we are starting a cooperation between Hadassah and teams from different countries such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Poland, and since I speak 4 languages (Hebrew, Russian, Spanish and English) he asks me to return for another delegation, but this time as the head of the delegation.
I had the pleasure and honor to be the head of the delegation, and to meet lovely people, doctors, nurses and administrative staff who crossed the continent to work under the Hadassah Clinic with the sole purpose of helping refugees escaping the war.
Since I returned to Israel and keep in touch with the delegations that I met in the refugee camp, and I fell that I gained friends for life. It was exciting to see how enthusiastic everyone was about Hadassah and some of them even said that they want to come and work with us for a while.
About two months ago, Hadassah International contacted me and invited me to take part in Young Hadassah International. This is a project that gathers about 40 young leaders from about 25 different countries around the world, who speak about 17 languages! And all with the goal of creating bridges of peace between the countries through medicine and through Hadassah. We were divided into groups and each group works on promoting their project in different areas. Surprises are yet to come!
