Strengthening the Abraham Accords

Support for Israel

Maintaining and ensuring peace in the Middle East are crucial to Israel’s security, vitality and prosperity. The Abraham Accords – the landmark normalization agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan – are a catalyst for security and stability. Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. advocates for robust American support of the Abraham Accords as part of strengthening the US-Israel relationship.

Recognition of Israel’s right to exist by these Arab neighbors changed the social, economic and security landscape of the Middle East. With continued support, the US can help lead the way to a more economically connected and peaceful region, which benefits the US, Israel and the world.

Researchers and clinicians at the Hadassah hospitals in Israel forge ties with medical professionals and institutions around the world – to further innovation, in times of crisis and to build bridges to peace. Medical partnership programs are a crucial area of international cooperation, resulting in new health technologies, improved methodologies and enhanced training of medical professionals to improve the health of people around the globe.

American leadership is critical for supporting Israel, our important democratic ally in the Middle East. To bolster American leadership behind the Abraham Accords, Hadassah calls on officials in the US to:

  • Establish a US State Department position of Special Envoy for the Abraham Accords with the rank of ambassador.
  • Join forces with the House and Senate Abraham Accords caucuses in Congress to support and strengthen their impact.
  • Promote the wide-ranging contributions of medical partnerships – especially in connection to the Abraham Accords – for the betterment of science, health and wellness, communication, economic development, diplomacy and more.

Hadassah's Policy Statements represent the organization's official stance on a wide variety of issues facing our nation, Israel and other international matters of concern. Policy Statements are debated and voted on at national meetings by Hadassah’s national board and delegates from our membership. Once approved, statements become official policies of the organization and serve to define Hadassah's overall agenda and advocacy priorities. Hadassah, as a charitable organization classified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is prohibited from any direct or indirect support of, or opposition to, candidates for public office.
