Hadassah Appoints Lara Werwa Managing Director of Hadassah Metro Now Encompassing Eight Regions in NY Tri-State Area  

February 7, 2019 – NEW YORK, NY – Lara Werwa has been named Managing Director, Hadassah Metro, according to Janice Weinman, Executive Director and CEO of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA). 

Werwa will be responsible for operations and management of Hadassah Metro which encompasses eight regions in the New York tri-state area including: Hadassah New York; Hadassah Brooklyn; Hadassah Connecticut; Hadassah Nassau; Hadassah Suffolk; Hadassah Westchester; Hadassah Northern New Jersey; and Hadassah Lower New York State. Werwa will work in partnership with leadership in these individual regions to achieve Hadassah’s organizational priorities and goals in the areas of women’s empowerment and health equity, Zionism and support for the State of Israel.

Werwa enthuses, “I am thrilled to take on a new role within Hadassah Metro and partner with our presidents and region leadership to enhance HWZOA’s impact. Werwa has dedicated her adult life to the Jewish community both personally and professionally. She was the first Create a Jewish Legacy Director of the Jewish Federation of Jacksonville, FL working to ensure the future of Jewish life in the city. She also served as the Assistant Membership Director of the JCC in Jacksonville where she focused on outreach, engagement and building membership.

Werwa currently serves as an International Vice President as well as a Training Consultant for the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and is a member of the sisterhood at Congregation Beth El in South Orange, NJ.

She relocated from Jacksonville, FL to Livingston, NJ with her family in the summer of 2016 and began working with local area synagogues before joining Hadassah’s Northern New Jersey Region team. Her husband Todd is an Emmy Award winning television producer and her children, Alana and Griffith attend Golda Och Academy.
