NEW YORK, NY — Dalia Itzik, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hadassah Medical Organization, has informed the medical center’s owner, Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, of her decision to step down at the end of 2026. Starting January 1, 2027, she will become Hadassah Global Honorary Ambassador.
Itzik has served as Chair of the Hadassah Medical Organization board for the past six years following more than seven years as Chair of Hadassah International, Hadassah’s global fundraising arm, in Israel.
During her tenure, and working alongside the board members and management of the Hadassah Medical Organization, Itzik played a key role in the medical center’s many achievements. These include the creation of the Gandel Rehabilitation Center – one of Israel’s largest and most advanced rehabilitation facilities – on the medical center’s Mount Scopus campus in Jerusalem; the expansion of the medical center’s services; the opening of Hadassah-Helmsley Netivot, a clinic that provides advanced care to residents of Southern Israel; and the stabilization of the medical center’s financial position.
“I have decided to move on to my next chapter,” said Itzik. “The Hadassah Medical Organization has been and will always remain a home and an important part of my work on behalf of the people of Israel. I thank the members and leadership of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, and my fellow board members for the countless hours they have devoted, around the clock, to the medical center.”
“We thank Dalia for her significant contributions to advancing the Hadassah Medical Organization during her six years as Chair of the Board and in her earlier roles,” said Carol Ann Schwartz, National President, Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America.
Schwartz continued, “During her tenure, we navigated many challenging periods together, including the COVID-19 pandemic and three years of war. Through our joint efforts, we helped lead the Hadassah Medical Organization to achieve many goals while ensuring that it continued to provide advanced, high-quality care to its patients. Dalia will always be part of the Hadassah family and upon completing her term, she will become Hadassah Global Honorary Ambassador.”
The process for selecting the next Chair of the Board of the Hadassah Medical Organization is expected to be determined in the coming days.
