Thursday, July 23, 2026

For the fifth consecutive year, Candid has awarded its Gold Seal of Transparency to Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, marking the group as one of the nation’s most trustworthy philanthropies.

Only 5 percent of the 1.9 million United States organizations registered as charities with the Internal Revenue Service have received a Candid seal.

The world’s largest source of information on American nonprofit organizations, Candid reserves its Gold Seal for charities that go above and beyond what is legally mandated, volunteering the most detailed level of information about their finances, leadership, board and staff demographics, mission, programs and impact.

Hadassah is America’s largest Jewish and Zionist women’s organization, with nearly 300,000 members, donors and supportersacross the US. Hadassah raises funds to support its Jerusalem-based hospital system, the Hadassah Medical Organization, which offers exemplary care to 1 million people each year and undertakes pioneering medical and scientific research. In the US, Hadassah brings women together to effect change on such critical issues as maintaining a strong US-Israel relationship, combating antisemitism and promoting women’s health equity.

"We are honored to receive Candid's Gold Seal of Transparency for the fifth year in a row," said Hadassah National President Carol Ann Schwartz. "Responsible stewardship is central to Hadassah's mission and essential to the trust our donors and supporters place in us."
