NEW YORK, NY – Carol Ann Schwartz, National President of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, made the following statement today in response to the resignation of UN Commission of Inquiry (COI) chair Navi Pillay and members Miloon Kothari and Chris Sidoti:
“Hadassah is pleased to see the resignation of the biased members of the UN Commission of Inquiry who, for over three years, have repeatedly made antisemitic statements, excused Hamas' terrorism and relentlessly targeted Israel. Despite documented evidence of Hamas’ systematic weaponization of sexual violence on and after October 7, 2023, the COI failed to call Hamas’ actions what they are: crimes against humanity. It is time to shut down the illegitimate COI once and for all and put an end to its mission to vilify and isolate Israel.”
