NEW YORK, NY — Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, is pleased to announce that Lauren Rothman has been named Managing Director of Hadassah Super South, responsible for the operation of 46 Hadassah chapters comprising more than 15,000 Hadassah members in 11 states (see below for a complete list). The appointment is effective immediately.
Rothman, who comes from a multigenerational Hadassah family and previously served as Managing Director of Hadassah West, succeeds Margo Gold, who recently retired.
The geographic area Rothman will oversee comprises Alabama, Arkansas, the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, most of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, part of West Virginia and all of southern Virginia.
In her new role, Rothman will work with the staff and local volunteer leaders in the Hadassah West states to advance Hadassah’s mission – to stand up for Israel, fight antisemitism, advocate for women’s health and support the Hadassah Medical Organization, Hadassah’s academic medical center in Jerusalem.
Said Ellen Finkelstein, CEO, Hadassah, "We are fortunate to be able to bring Lauren’s exceptional skills and experience to bear on the critical role of Managing Director of Hadassah Super South. I know she will bring the same level of excellence and insight to her new role as she brought to her previous one."
"We look forward to working with Lauren, whose exceptional leadership, strategic vision and ability to listen and collaborate have been integral to Hadassah West’s success," said Lynn Gold-Benjamin, Resource Chair, Hadassah Super South.
Said Rothman, “Hadassah gives women the opportunity to grow and become agents of change. I look forward to introducing new women to this incredible organization and to continuing the work of advocating for women’s health equity, Israel and Zionism.”
Rothman has been with Hadassah for a total of nearly two decades. She joined the organization in 2001 as the area director for Hadassah Southern California and later served as the region’s executive director. In-between, she was the major gifts officer for the Los Angeles Jewish Home and the development director for the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. Rothman holds a BA in public relations from California State University, Chico.
