Responding to DC Murders, Hadassah Joins 42 Jewish Orgs in Urging Government Action

In response to the cold-blooded murders of two Israeli Embassy staffers outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, Hadassah joined a coalition of 42 Jewish organizations in issuing a joint statement. The statement, reports the Jewish Insider today, urges additional action from the federal government to address antisemitism in the United States and expand funding to protect the Jewish community.

The murders of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, the letter says, are “the direct consequence of rising antisemitic incitement in places such as college campuses, city council meetings and social media that has normalized hate and emboldened those who wish to do harm.”

“The rising level of anti-Jewish incitement, which inevitably leads to violent acts like the one in Washington, DC, yesterday, requires governmental action commensurate with the level of danger,” it says.
