Welcome to Hadassah Greater Washington! Our region has over 7,000 members, with six active chapters in Montgomery County, Annapolis and Northern Virginia, and two active groups in senior residences. Our members work together to support Hadassah hospitals and Youth Aliyah villages in Israel. We advocate for US-Israel relationship support, women’s health and efforts to combat antisemitism. Each year, our members participate in meetings with Maryland and Virginia representatives, senators and state legislators.
Our local chapters bring women together to learn, to socialize and to support Hadassah. Region and chapter programs in the last two years include an Israeli comedian; medical panels focused on heart health, diabetes and brain health; and activities centered around Jewish holidays including Sukkot, Chanukah and Purim. We have raised money to purchase neonatal incubators and pediatric beds, and many fundraisers have contributed to our Youth Aliyah Villages in Israel. Almost every chapter has a book group, and some chapters have regular walk-a-thons, virtual trips or tours of local sights. Visit our Facebook page to learn more, and I hope you will join us.
