“Coming to the youth village was the best decision I could have made in my life,” said Fenta Workia, an alumna of Hadassah Neurim Youth Village, in her thank-you letter to Hadassah for a scholarship that will help her stay on the path to success. “If I hadn't gone there, I truly believe I wouldn't be where I am today.”
Fenta immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia at age 10, and she arrived at Hadassah Neurim in 2014 to begin ninth grade. After graduation, Fenta enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, and after two straight years of reserve duty, she has begun working toward a law degree at the University of Haifa.
"With people like these, how could I not succeed?" said Fenta of the staff at Hadassah Neurim, whose support is part of the magic touch that gives village students the best opportunity to succeed in life.
Hadassah wishes the best for Fenta, along with Timor Kuchkarov, also of Hadassah Neurim, and Mark Kungurov and Keren Simchi of Meir Shfeyah Youth Aliyah Village, as she continues her studies and looks forward to supporting future graduates.
