Hadassah Expert Talks Heartbreak on CNN

Dr. Yoram Yovell, psychiatrist and neuroscientist at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, joined CNN’s podcast Chasing Life to answer the time-honored question: Does love always hurt?

“Yes, of course!” Dr. Yovell told host Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, as reported on CNN.com. “Love is usually beautiful, right? But at some point, love is going to hurt. And if it doesn’t, then it might not be love.”

And it turns out, when love hurts, it hurts both emotionally and physically.

So how does one heal from the pain of lost love?“One of the things that helps most is reconnecting to other people that you love.”
