The Hadassah Way: Palestinian & Israeli Doctors Saving Lives

While conflict affects daily life, the liver and kidney transplant team at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, who come from all walks of life, puts saving lives above all else. On the heels of the hospital’s record number of transplant surgeries in 2017, they work with no regard for political or religious differences.

Recently NBC News followed along as HMO's Dr. Hadar Mehav, Chief of Transplantation at Hadassah Hospital and Dr. Abed Khalaileh, Director of Kidney Transplantation at Hadassah Hospital, along with their team, performed a live transplant from an Israeli donor to an Israeli Arab patient.
