Hadassah in Action: Baton Rouge Flooding

Around the country, Hadassah members are voicing their concern about the devastation in Baton Rouge, as Louisiana residents flooded out of their homes try to piece their lives back together. Four Hadassah families were directly impacted, including Hadassah Baton Rouge President Marilyn Martell, who was displaced. Already, some 106,000 people in Louisiana have registered for FEMA Individual Assistance.

"We are devastated about the loss our Hadassah family has endured — and the Jewish community in general in Baton Rouge, which is small and was hit hard," said Hadassah Southern Region President Bonnie Boring. "I'm extremely proud of the Hadassah family in being able to stand by our Hadassah sisters," added Bonnie, who has helped coordinate Hadassah's response on the ground, collecting contributions for gift cards for local Hadassah families impacted.

Please share supportive messages for all of our Hadassah families and friends impacted by the storm in the comments section.
